A new test version has been uploaded (same link). This is the final development version before release. Assuming that I don't find any bugs in the final round of testing, v 1.3.0 will be uploaded to the market on sunday.

I've captured a few treasure galleons, all had gems. I find if a galleon has a weaker rigging than my ship, if I focus on weakening that I can capture it easier.

I always seem to stumble across them in the beginning of the game, very hard to capture with an unmodified sloop. My cannon shots hit everywhere but the rigging But still I must try ![]() |

Thanks for the feedback.
Events are generated constantly (not when you check for rumors), so it's not really doable to have it close to your current location as the game is implemented currently. This allows you to - for instance - stumble across a Treasure Galleon even though you have never seen the rumor. You can always check the age of a rumor in the Status view - if it is too old, it may not be worth following up on. But we probably need some more clear feedback on this in the game view. |

Hmm. I'll think about it. I suspect that no matter what decision is, some people will be unhappy.
A new version of the game has been uploaded where I have fixed all of the interfaces to use the new three button top view. Also note that MENU is now active in almost all views (access to manual and save game). This is pretty much it for v1.3.0 - I need to update the documentation and perhaps add a few dialogs, but I won't be adding any major new features. So please keep testing and let me know if you run into any issues. Port Attacks delayed until v 1.3.1 or 1.3.2. ![]() |

I was a little upset with the Treasure Galleon mission. I was all the way in Barbados (the Easternmost port) when I received the mission. I immediately dropped my war against the French to go plunder! Unfortunately, it was all the way over in Santa Catalina (practically the farthest port to the West). By the time I got there, it was too late.
Perhaps the mission should place the Treasure Galleon within range, or ensure you have sufficient time. |

Still struggling to find time to keep the blog updated, as you have no doubt noticed. Well, such is life sometimes.
Work on Imperium has been very scarce for a period. The main reason is that Pirates and Traders has been occupying most of my development time. Read the full post here. |

Should be optional. Or some warning popup, like long time since last save. I would either want iron-man or full control over save. If you dont keep some auto save slot that is.

Stats are still increased every year (if things work correctly). But it does mean that you can take more "turns" before you increase your stats, yes (presumably somewhere between 2-3 times as many turns).
I don't think I've changed the search algorithms, but I'll check. @zuul: I think it is necessary to have some auto-saving even in non-ironman, in order to prevent the player losing hours of gaming time if a FC occurs or the phone gets switched off. Saving when entering port seems like the most natural point, but I suppose I could move it to some other place. |
