Version 1.2.5 - 1.2.8
« on: August 09, 2010, 08:58:47 AM »
Another bug fix release (task list here). This - hopefully - fixes a force close error some people have been getting when switching in-and-out of the game on phones with low memory. It also opens up for Market download on small screen devices and tweaks a number of minor issues (as usual, see the changelog for details).

Oh yes - added a variant on the merchant mission, and 1 new mission (taking the total number of different missions up to 4+1).I've also updated the task with the official list of quests and missions that I hope to implement in the Pirates and Traders base game.

P&T related work will now focus on version 1.3.0, where I plan to implement the new data and time system (discrete days instead of months) and the dynamic diplomacy and governor missions.

Update 1: Seems like something went badly wrong with the file upload of 1.2.5 to the market. The only way I managed to get this fixed was to update to 1.2.6. There is otherwise no difference between these two versions.

Update 2: Sigh. I overlooked a complication with one of the new bug fixes, which caused the game to force close on startup if the player had an old savegame (pre 1.2.3) on his phone. New version fixes that problem. If you don't have an older version of the game and you already have 1.2.6 installed, there is no need to upgrade.

Hi,

Thanks for such a great game, I play it a lot and it's one of the best I have found on the Market :)

My only problem with the new version is the way you have changed the average cargo price. I do a lot more trading than fighting in the early part of each play-through to earn enough for a decent ship. I can't keep track of what I paid for each individual kind of cargo, so the old system was really helpful in determining whether or not I would be making a profit.

The new way is great for when you are buying goods, but would it be possible to have the option to include both bits of information? I realise the cargo screen gets a bit crowded already, but personally that would be a good trade-off for better accounting.

Thanks again

Welcome to the forums.

The problem with the old average cargo price was that it was not getting calculated correctly, resulting in prices that were often misleading. I could certainly reinsert the information, but I was not really happy with having occasionally misleading data in there. I'll see if I can figure out a way to do the calculations properly.

Thanks :)

That sounds great, it's not a dealbreaker for me or anything, just a feature I found useful!

The development roadmap looks pretty good, I'm excited to see what gets put in the next update ;D

Version 1.2.8 (out now) is an interim release to fix a couple of bugs.

Working hard on 1.3.0, which will add some (hopefully) interesting changes to the game.

Good job :). My stationary computer broke yesterday. The first day back from the Medieval Week. But I will buy a new one and son continue work on the graphics (don't think any hard-drive was damaged).

Bug to report: Sometimes when you press the back button, the game continue to ask if you want to quit the game. Only way for it to stop is either to quit or use another button like menu or search.
