Well, despite the vacation time, I have been having a lot of time to think and work this summer.
Some of those thoughts have already been mentioned. Other things have been going on too, though.
One thing that has been going down is that I have ported Imperium over to another development environment. One of the problems with my current development environment (in C++), was that keeping the tools up to date was beginning to look like a severe drain on the economy of the game. Since I'd definitely like to continue supporting the game after I get it out, I decided to look for alternatives. The result is that Imperium is now being implemented using Java. The porting has been largely painless and swift, so it seems like I made the right decision - and as I was needing to go through the code to fix bugs and add some missing functionality anyway, little time was lost. As a side-effect, it should now also be possible to play Imperium on Linux or the Mac.
As I mentioned earlier, I established a small development company (with a grand total of one employee... me) some time ago that develops Imperium (sadly, I couldn't name it Fenrir due to weird naming rules in Norway). In a short while, I plan to move this forum and the Imperium site to the "official website" of this company along with the Imperium game. Fenrir.dk will remain active, but only as a host for the history articles that I have maintained here. I'll be updating the description of the game and cleaning out the forum as well. Apologies in advance if you receive a mail or two from the forum - I will likely take the step of cleaning out some of the dead accounts, but will send out e-mail warnings first.
I can't say exactly when the move will happen (I need to make some time available first), but I can say that when it happens, I will have a small surprise prepared that I hope you all enjoy.
