The Hellenistic World Beckons! All those who ever wondered what might have been if one of Alexander's successors had succeeded in reuniting his empire; all those who yearned to emulate Hannibal and punish arrogant Rome, or to follow the traces of Scipio, Marius and Caesar in conquering new provinces for Mars' city; all those who dreamed of the splendour and wealth of Ptolemaic Egypt, with a court whose debauchery echoes through the ages; all those who pondered what a united Celtic empire might have been capable of; all those who wished that the decline of Athens or Sparta could have been halted and reversed; and also those who might have heard of Pyrrhos the great adventurer, and desired to take his place as a heroic warlord; to you all, we say:

to the glory that was Greece,
And the grandeur that was Rome.
Welcome to 280 BC! Rome II is a turn-based forum game, with multiple players competing online for power and glory.

Each player commands one faction, being responsible for the factions diplomacy, military and economic health. With up to 28 players all competing to win the game, a mix of ruthlessness, charm and cunning will be needed to succeed. A decent understanding of the art of war will also do you well. Battles are conducted by an admin using table top war-game rules.
Rome II is the successor to Rome I, which ran for approximately 3 years and which was based (with permission) on the excellent Rome Total War mod, Europa Barbarorum.
The game will start early in the New Year. If you are interested why not take a look at the game in more detail.
