Hi Tormy, welcome to the forum.
How come that years have passed? A number of factors are to blame, but primarily that the game was far too ambitious to begin with (and is still, perhaps, a little too ambitious for a single person), and that it is primarily one person working on the development in his free time. Life has had a habit of interfering with my work on the game, and then there are also occasions when I am less motivated than other times - and thus get less done. The game will be released (barring any accidents), as I have spent far too much time on it to not do so.

I have looked for help on the game many times, but there are two problems with that: 1) after many years of development, Imperium has become such a complex (read: messy) project that it is very hard for anyone other than myself to get the big picture, and 2) there are not really that many developers who are both interested in working on a "free" project (i.e., where there is no up-front funding) AND work on a turn-based strategy game.
But believe me when I say that I want to finish up on the game even more than any of you guys want to try and play it.
